Jatco, a speciality manufacturer of automatic transmissions (ATs, CVTs), has announced that Jatco (Suzhou) Automatic Transmission would be established as its second CVT production plant in China, in Economic and Technological Development Zone, Zhangjiagang City, Jiangsu Province, to expand its CVT production capacity.
With a CVT market growth in China, annual production in Jatco (Guangzhou) Automatic Transmission, which started production in 2009 as the first production site in China, has exceeded 1m units. In order to expand production capacity, company decided to establish a new production facility in Zhangjiagang City, Jiangsu Province, with good access to suppliers, logistics competitiveness as well as other good business conditions. Production is expected to start in end 2019 with annual production capacity of 480,000 units. Initial employees will be about 1,000. Jatco CVT8 for mid and large- sized FF vehicles will be produced in the new plant.
