PSA is to appoint chairman Louis Gallois as a member of its Finance and Audit body, following the recommendation of the Appointments, Compensation and Governance Committee.

In accepting the appointment, Gallois said he wished to resign from his role on the Strategy Committee in order to maintain the balanced membership of the Supervisory Board committees.

PSA Strategy Committee chairman, Robert Peugeot, thanked Gallois for his work and positive contributions to the body.

Gallois has enjoyed a storied career in French political and business life, starting his working life in the French Treasury Department and then becoming chief of staff for Jean-Pierre Chevènement at the Ministry of Research and Technology. He then served on Chevènement’s staff at the Ministry of Defence.

After that, he held the position of chairman and CEO first at engine maker, Snecma and then at Aerospatiale.

After serving as president of SNCF-French Railways from 1996 to 2006, he was one of the co-CEOs of the EADS Group until 2007, then Chief Executive Officer until 2012.
