PSA Group says the Opel and Vauxhall management announcements unveiled this morning (1 August) will continue to see its supply chain command hierarchy remain unaltered.

The automaker made its comments as Michelle Wen, formerly Group Supply Chain Management Network Director at Vodafone Procurement, was announced as Opel VP, Purchasing and Supply chain, replacing Katherine Worthen.

PSA’s current director, Supply Chain and Manufacturing Yann Vincent, will continue in his role, while Opel component procurement will be a separate entity, contributing to the aim of making the German and British arms profitable by 2020.

“It is a change of management at Opel,” a PSA spokesman told just-auto from Paris. “Yann Vincent will remain supply chain director of PSA Group.

“It is team Opel – it does not involve structural [change] at all of PSA. It is completely apart.”

PSA said the Opel/Vauxhall management team will work on a plan for the future in the next 100 days. “We are eager to build the plan with PSA’s support and obviously together with our partners from the Works Council and the unions,” said Opel CEO, Michael Lohscheller.
