GAZ Group has inked an agreement with Russian energy network company, PJSC Rosseti.

GAZ Group president, Vadim Sorokin and PJSC Rosseti CEO, Oleg Budarghin signed the deal at the automaker’s Yaroslavl Engine Plant.

The companies will cooperate on renewal of the automotive fleet for electricity supply in Russia. PJSC Rosseti has one of the largest fleets of commercial vehicles in Russia and has been a long-standing partner of GAZ Group.

The Russian energy network company operates more than 11,000 GAZ vehicles and needs several thousand more.

GAZ Group produces a wide range of equipment for emergency response and installation works on electricity supply network sites. These include: Autohydraulic hoists, truck loader cranes, service workshops and other special vehicles based on LCVs, Gazelle Next, Gazelle Business and Sobol. Medium trucks feature Gazon Next and heavy trucks, Ural Next. 

Cooperation between the companies also involves expanding the range of diesel-generator units (DGU) based on the engines of the Yaroslavl Engine Plant of GAZ Group, taking into account the future needs of PJSC Rosseti. YaMZ-engine based DGUs are used as basic, standby or emergency power sources.

The companies have also agreed on development of new hybrid vehicles and electric transport and plan to cooperate in establishing infrastructure for electric transport operation in Russian Federation regions.

GAZ Group is the first company in Russia to develop an E-bus and has carried tests on real Moscow roads on which it passed 13,000 km and carried more than 25,000 passengers.

GAZ Group has also created a unified electrical platform for the whole lineup of Gazelle Next vehicles, with the potential to manufacture dropside trucks, vans and minibuses.  

“Thousands of vehicles, produced by our company are operated in electricity supply networks of our country,” said Sorokin.”Today GAZ Group is ready to provide PJSC Rosseti with transport of new generation that allows achieving maximum efficiency when solving any tasks.

“In addition, we now turn to a new level of cooperation: the company PJSC Rosseti, that is now one of the leaders in Russia in implementation of innovative technologies, becomes an infrastructure partner of GAZ Group in developing electric transport system in RF regions.”
