Saab Cars USA will price the fully redesigned 9-3 Sport Sedan, on sale from 12 October, from $US25,900 for the base Linear variant with 175bhp two-litre turbocharged engine and standard equipment including leather seats, electronic stability and traction control, dual front plus front and rear side curtain airbags, OnStar telematics system with hands free telephone capability, 150 watt audio system with 7 speakers and CD and no-charge 36 months/36,000 miles maintenance programme.
“We are prepared to enter the premium compact sport sedan segment with a bang,” said Saab Cars USA vice president of sales Richard O’Kelley.
“Our pricing makes it the best value in the segment.”
Arc and Vector (210 horsepower) 9-3 variants will be launched in the US early in 2003 and will be priced at $29,995 and $32,495 respectively.
