The Brose Group has won the ''World Procurement Award" in the "Best Procurement Team" category and says the recognition reflects its cross-functional and collaborative approach to its purchasing operations.
The company says the prize is considered to be the "Oscar" for excellent procurement management. It was presented last month by the global association 'Procurement Leaders' in London.

The privately held automotive supplier won over the jury with its "innovative purchasing management and cross-functional collaboration between Brose purchasing staff, quality and development engineers, specialists in project management and strategic suppliers," Brose said.
"It was important for us that the sense of belonging to a team was felt well beyond the boundaries of Purchasing," said Sandro Scharlibbe, Executive Vice-President Purchasing Brose Group.
The company maintains that collectively devised solutions led to a significant improvement in the functionality of Brose products and costs. As a result the automotive supplier claims that it was able to increase its market share and enhance customer benefit.
The jury explained its decision: "Precision work. Here, Brose has raised the bar high, setting the standard for the sector."
Procurement Leaders is a purchasing association with 24,000 members from over 700 organizations and 50 countries. The World Procurement Award is presented annually.
In 2015, the mechatronics specialist won the trophy in the "Innovation" category for its "holistic" approach toward getting suppliers involved in the development and innovation process.
In 2015, purchasing at the Brose Group procured EUR4.3bn worth of materials, services and investment goods from approximately 1,500 suppliers worldwide.
