Under the contract, Albion Automotive’s Glasgow Driveline facility will produce a range of rear axles for the Renault Mascott van and the Midlum medium duty truck.
Albion also says that the new contract transfers ownership of intellectual property rights to the products to Albion. As a result, the company says that it is planning a number of product enhancements including an electric differential lock actuator for the smallest van axle. In addition, opportunities to rationalise the number of Albion axle components via the ‘large volume of axles produced by AAM and Albion’ are being investigated.
