Borgward Group, which has revived the once well known German brand that ceased car making early in the 1960s, said it would the first German automaker to create a board of management position for design.
From 1 January 1, 2017, this post will be filled "renowned designer" Anders Warming, the company said in a statement.

It added Napoleon Genot, who holds an advanced degree in design, will join the international design team in Renningen near the company's headquarters in Stuttgart. Belgian Genot will serve be executive design director of Europe and play a major role in the process of designing future vehicle generations and families. Genot studied design at Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences and subsequently worked in design studios at Audi, Renault, SEAT and Hyundai. He contributed to concept and series-produced vehicles such as Kia's 2010 Pro-Cee'd and the 2015 Kia Sportage as well as that automaker's GT Concept for 2011.
Genot said: "The entire automotive industry is currently being thoroughly transformed. That's why I think this is the ideal point in time to work together with an expert team to re-establish Borgward vehicle design at the cutting edge of the global automotive industry."
