Hitachi Automotive Systems announced its mono tube shock absorber is being used on all models of Toyota Motor’s Lexus IS series released last October as minor change models.
“The mono tube shock absorber is a principal component of a suspension system that provides outstanding responsiveness,” the supplier said.

It provided few other details other than saying: “The minor changes to the IS series focus on Toyota’s attention to detail, such as the tuning of the suspension, advancing the pleasure of driving…… and on further improving the level of comfort.”
The supplier is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi headquartered in Tokyo. It makes a varoety of automotive components including engine management, electric power train, drive control and car information systems.
