Beyond that, Bosch and Brose will work together in the area of vehicle lock systems. The acquisition is subject to approval of the German government.

The lock system activities of Bosch include electronic locking for motor vehicles. Bosch currently operates in Wuppertal Germany, Tschechien (Roznov), Portugal (Tondela), Korea (Buyong), the US (Albion and Farmington Hills) and Mexico (San Luis Potosi).

Bosch has approximately 1,700 employees in its lock system division and expects to turn over about €220 million this year.

Buying the Bosch lock systems business will expand Brose into vehicle door components and it will become the second largest German company offering lock systems.

Brose Group claims, with €1.5 billion in annual sales and 5,000 employees at 20 locations to be the worldwide leader for window regulator and door systems.
