New vehicle sales in Thailand fell by almost 26% to 108,688 units in December, compared with peak volumes of 146,536 units in the same month of last year, according to the Federation of Thai Industries.

Domestic sentiment has been affected by rising political unrest in the country, although the main reason behind the decline was the normalisation of the market after last year’s government’s first time buyer incentive scheme.
