The GM-SAIC joint venture in China is set to launch the Chevrolet Trax B-segment SUV at the Beijing show in April, a local report said.
This is the China-made Chevrolet Trax, looking ready for the Chinese auto market.
Carnewschina.com said the price would range from about CNY130,000 to CNY170,000 and it will be called TRAX chuangku, “best translated as Trax Creating Cool”.
The more luxuriously trimmed Buick Encore is already in production in China at Shanghai-GM and is priced at CNY149,900-CNY196,900 yuan with the sole engine offering of a 140bhp 1.4 turbo with six speed manual or automatic transmissions.
The report said the Trax will get the same engine and likely also a 1.6, which will be positioned below the 1.4 turbo.
