Passenger car sales in India rose 1% in  February to 160,718 units from 158,512 units in the same month a year ago, according to figures from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

Motorcycle sales last month climbed 5% to 843,307 units from 800,165 units a year earlier. Total two wheeler sales in February rose by 10% to 1,220,012 units, an indication that there is still no large scale movement from two to four wheels in the country.
