SAIC Motor’s MG division has revealed a UK designed and developed electric vehicle as part of the brand’s 90th anniversary celebrations.

The Dynamo concept was unveiled in London and the company said it was developed to help it to fully understand European market demand for a small, electric MG. The Dynamo was designed at SAIC Motor’s European Design and Technical Centre (SMTC) based within the MG site at Longbridge, Birmingham.

The Dynamo is 3.5m long and is claimed to have a range of 80km (50 miles) on a single charge. MG said a 30-minute rapid charge will give 80% capacity to the batteries and a standard charge takes six hours.
