After experiencing lacklustre demand for the Alto 800, despite a completely new look in 2012, Maruti Suzuki is set to launch a new Alto K10 compact hatchback this fiscal year.

The Financial Express said the K10 would have an automated manual transmission option and compete with Hyundai’s Eon 1.0 and the new Datsun Go.

A source said: “The Alto K10 will be launched around January 2015. The design has completely been changed and it will now offer more space, more modern interiors as well as the AMT auto gear technology.”
