According to local reports, rebates as high as JPY2m (US$19,800) per vehicle could be offered to buyers of hydrogen powered vehicles, which would potentially cut the price of Toyota’s forthcoming fuel cell car to as low as JPY5m.

The government aims to have network of 100 hydrogen refueling stations in place across Japan by the end of the current fiscal year, 31 March, 2015.
