New vehicle sales in Thailand increased by 63.4% to 125,817 units in January, from 76,246 units a year earlier, according to data released by the Federation of Thai Industries.

The market benefited from an overspill of orders from December, ahead of the withdrawal of government-sponsored first-time buyer incentives. Also, sales a year earlier were held back by disruption to production as a result of widespread flooding in the country.
