Toyota luxury car brand Lexus plans to expand its Australian line to seven models including the return of the right hand drive ES after seven years.
It will add the ES300h hybrid and ES350 V6 petrol variants this year and the 2.5-litre I4 GS300h in the first quarter of 2014.
The Australian unit said it secured production of right hand drive ES models for the first time in seven years.
The ES300h, also with 2.5-litre I4, will develop 151kW while the GS300h is good for 164kW thanks to the addition of direct injection.
Lexus Australia chief executive Sean Hanley said: “The addition of these three new models gives Lexus a distinct advantage in the luxury vehicle segment, offering a peerless product in ES and our seventh hybrid vehicle in the form of GS300h.
“All three vehicles have a vital role to play in our continued product and brand reinvention.”
