ATX, an independent telematics service provider to the automotive industry is to create a European subsidiary.
President and chief executive officer Steve Millstein said the establishment of ATX Europe, GmbH, represents the company’s “further exploration for expanding our operations into the European market as a way to better serve our automotive OEM (original equipment manufacturer) customers.”
In North America, ATX provides telematics services to European-based automotive manufacturers Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Jaguar.
ATX’s expansion plans into Europe include the development of a call centre and data centre with information technology, marketing and customer service operations. ATX anticipates its European headquarters will be located in or near Dusseldorf, Germany with 60 to 70 employees.
