A top Renault executive for the Americas region, Denis Barbier, has signed two cooperation agreements with Colombian power companies that will see 250 ZE Fluence and Kangoo electric vehicles being tested in the cities of Bogotá and Medellín.
The first vehicles will arrive in the second half of the year with the full fleet imported in 2012. Renault and the Codensa and EPM utilities will evaluate the vehicles to determine if it would be commercially viable to sell and supporting them in the key Colombian cities.
The tests will include technical, commercial, financial and legal studies and consider development of a recharging network.
“Colombia is the first country in the Americas to get the Renault electric vehicles and sign these kind of agreements,” said Barbier.
