Chrysler
Group unveiled the Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible styling study at the New
York motor show today.
To create the two-door drop-top from the five-door original, the designers
lowered the header and roof and restyled the rear wheel flares and rear quarter
panels to accommodate the newly designed longer doors.

Body-coloured bumpers and a chromed grille were included to reinforce the
customised look of the convertible which sits 1.5 inches lower than the five-door.
The concept is finished in a deep blue pearl-finish paint while the interior
features a dark taupe and light pearl beige colour scheme with cognac and body-colour
blue accents.
The
PT Cruiser convertible seats four in ‘theatre-style seating’. Translation:
rear passengers sit higher than the front passengers for a better view.
A speaker and a mesh storage pocket have been added to the longer front door
trim panels and a recessed arm rest and courtesy light are in each rear quarter
panel.
