Japan’s new vehicle sales, excluding minivehicles, rose 36.1% in July from a year earlier to 328,543 units, up for the 10th straight month, the Japan Automobile Dealers Association said on Wednesday (1 August).
Sales of passenger cars increased 37.3% to 295,581 units, while sales of trucks rose 27.3% to 32,175 units and those of buses fell 15% to 787 units.

Meanwhile, sales of minivehicles with engine displacement of up to 660cc grew 40.3% to 184,582 units for the 10th straight monthly rise, the Japan Mini Vehicles Association said, according to Kyodo News.
