Volvo Car Corporation (VCC) has announced the appointment of Alain Visser as vice president of Sales Operations within its Marketing, Sales and Customer Service division.
“I really look forward to join Volvo Car Corporation. The company is in a challenging stage of transformation and expansion and has an exciting strategy ahead,” a release from VCC quotes Visser as stating.

Until earlier this year, Visser, 49, had been the vice president of Sales, Marketing and After sales for Opel and Vauxhall. Effective 1 March 2012, he became head of Marketing for all of Chevrolet’s markets outside North and South America but left GM soon after. Prior to these roles, Visser had held various leadership positions in Sales and Marketing positions within Ford of Europe and General Motors.
VCC’s new VP of Sales, who was born in Belgium, holds a Masters degree from the University of Antwerp as well as an MBA from Duke University in North Carolina. He began his career at Ford of Belgium in 1987.
Managing Volvo’s global sales operational business will be Visser’s main role. He will report to Doug Speck, VCC’s senior vice president of Marketing, Sales and Customer Service.
Alain Visser is due to take up his new role on 3 September.
