The promoter of the Los Angeles motor show has given the media preview dates for the 2013 event to just-auto and in so doing, has revealed that there will be a direct clash with the press days for the Tokyo show.

Both shows will hold their media preview days on 20 and 21 November 2013.

“The Tokyo show has been experiencing a lot of contraction and moved locations and dates. In my experience the exact same dates are almost better as they can do concurrent debuts. Plus the US, Korean and European executives don’t really attend the Tokyo show as much any more. For those media that would wish to attend both, it could be an issue. We don’t really have a choice,” a spokesman for the LA show told just-auto via email.

The identical dates for next year should be a one-off, the spokesperson notes.

“Tokyo will be moving its dates to October for 2015 and beyond, with the press days stated as 28 and 29 October [2015]”, the spokesman added.
