Mahindra & Mahindra plans to export its first mini-SUV, the Quanto, to Europe and South Africa.
Pravin Shah, chief executive of the automotive division, told Reuters the Quanto, launched in India on Thursday (20 September), would be ready for exports in three to four months.

The sub-four metre Quanto is one of the smallest SUVs in India and is powered by a 100bhp 1.5 litre diesel engine with maximum torque of 240 Nm. The Quanto is built on a separate chassis [frame] borrowed from the Xylo MPV.
Cars or SUVs that measures up to 4m qualify for 12% excise tax. Mahindra currently manufactures the Xylo utility vehicle on the same Ingenio platform. The Quanto will be available with four trim levels.
