The roll-out coincided with the opening of a new paint shop at the factory.

The current M-class so far has only been built at Daimler’s Tuscaloosa, Alabama, plant in the US.

The company said the decision to build the M-Class in Pune highlighted its commitment to the Indian market.

Last year, Mercedes sold 600 M-Classes in India, a figure it matched in the first nine months of this year.
