A futher announcement saw Delphi independent aftermarket product and service head for Europe, Middle East and Africa Gael Escribe reveal the supplier had launched its linked diagnostic system allowing technicians to connect netbooks to a universal connector under the dashboard to determine fault codes.

Once diagnosis is complete, the system will allow technicians to find parts by switching directly to the TechDoc cataloguing system.

“This is the first time technicians can make a diagnosis and find the part they need in one system,” said Escribe. “This is a significant innovation.”

Escribe also said Delphi had opened new training sites in the UK and Turkey, with Russia to follow “in the coming weeks.” Existing sites in Germany, France and Spain were also being upgraded.

Moretti added Delphi had booked US$35bn of new business during the last 18 months.
