Siemens Automotive Systems will start building a new factory in Brazil at the end of the month. The company is investing $US25 million to make wiring harnesses exclusively for Ford’s new assembly plant in Feira de Santana, Bahia state.

That factory opens at the end of 2001, producing a new compact car range currently code-named ‘Amazon’.
