Fiat will lift the lid off its new 500C convertible at the Geneva show, a successor to the original rear engine 500 convertible launched in 1957.
The electrically operated soft top model will be offered with the same engines as the tin top – 1.3 litre Multijet turbodiesel and 1.2 litre and 1.4 litre petrol units.
The new 500C also has Start&Stop which stops the engine when the driver shifts to neutral and releases the clutch and restarts when a gear is selected.
A clever parallelogram hinge device for the lid allows the boot to be loaded easily when the top is down.
A glass rear window is used in the soft top which will come in ivory, red or black. Two new body colours are being introduced with the 500C.
