Taiwanese assembler Yulon Motor has introduced its first self-developed model, the Luxgen MPV, to be produced by a new subsidiary from April and exported to Russia and China.

Luxgen Motor (for Luxury x Genius) was set up in 2008 by Yulon Motor, which assembled Nissan and General Motors in Taiwan. The company has a large R&D operation which modifies Nissan and GM-sourced models for the local market.

The Luxgen MPV is reportedly based on the previous Renault Espace platform but powered by a self-developed 200hp 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine.

It is 4,800m long and 1,876 mm wide and equipment includes rear-view cameras and a Windows CE-powered dashboard.
