Japan’s automobile production in 2009 fell below the 8m mark for the first time in 33 years amid the global economic downturn, an industry body said on Friday.
Domestic production of cars, trucks and buses totaled 7,934,516 units, down 31.5% year on year, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association told Kyodo News.
