As widely expected, after Toyota last week recalled its Aygo model, PSA is to recall some similar Peugeot and Citroen models built in the same Czech Republic factory.
It said on Monday it would conduct a “precautionary recall” on some Peugeot 107s & Citroën C1s after Toyota announced its own recall campaign for eight European models to solve a potential accelerator pedal issue.

“PSA Peugeot Citroën has decided, in line with its stringent quality policy, to launch a similar programme for a selected range of Peugeot 107s and Citroën C1s which are produced in cooperation with Toyota in a shared plant,” it said in a statement.
“This precautionary recall concerns less than 10% of Peugeot 107s and Citroën C1s in circulation in Europe, ie 97 000 vehicles.”
Affected customers will soon receive letters.
