Vehicle sales in Brazil slumped 27.33% in January from December, cooling off after a streak of monthly gains that pushed 2009 to a record in sales, national automobile dealers association Fenabrave said.
Despite the monthly decline, sales of new cars, light vehicles, trucks and buses rose 7.85% to 212,937 units in January from a year earlier, Fenabrave said.
