Mercedes-Benz has said its monthly vehicle sales in China grew 21% year on year to hit 2,800 units in February.
The company sold 1,600 units of its SUVs during the same period, representing a year-on-year growth of 61%, becoming the major contributor to its overall growth on the mainland, said the China Daily.
Mercedes-Benz earlier posted a 44% year-on-year growth of car sales in the country for 2008, with 38,700 units being sold, making China the company’s largest overseas market, the report said.
