The Indian unit of Tatra AS, the Czech heavy truck giant, has announced it will soon start making engines for the global market and also launch a new truck model by the end of this year. “The parent company has decided to transfer gearbox (engine) technology to its Indian subsidiary. Manufacturing will commence within the next six months,” Tatra Udyog Managing Director Lt Gen. R I’S Kahlon said.
