After a source told Reuters last week that luxury carmaker Koenigsegg and Norwegian investors had reached a preliminary agreement to buy Saab Automobile, a Saab spokeswoman on Monday told the news agency an announcement should come soon.

“I think that during this week, chances are good. It could be any time now,” Gunilla Gustavs was quoted as saying.

Saab also said more than 80% of its creditors had agreed to write down the value of their Saab debt.

According to Reuters, the automaker, which sought creditor protection in February and was more recently granted until August to reorganise, needs support from 75% of creditors, as well as from creditors holding 75% of its debt, for the write down to be carried out, a process that is to be approved by a Swedish district court on Wednesday.
