Russian manufacturer Sibur Russian Tyres has started supplying Moscow-based car maker Avtoframos, controlled by Renault, the tyremaker said.

It started supplying tyres under its Cordiant sub-premium brand for Renault Logan and Sandero models. The company plans to supply up to 100,000 tyres before the end of 2010, it said.

Sibur Russian Tires is owned by petrochemical group Sibur Holding and controls tyre manufacturers Omskshina, Matador-Omskshina, the Yaroslavl tyre plant, Voltire-Prom, and Uralshina.

The company is mulling the possibility of merging with other tyre manufacturers in Russia although evaluation is still at an early stage, just-auto reported today.
