Russia’s Taganrog Automobile Plant (TagAZ) has resumed production of its Vega cars after about one month of suspension, RBC Daily reported Friday citing a plant spokesman.

TagAZ suspended production of its new Vega model in late October, but said it wasn’t connected with a court ruling that found the model to be a copy of Chevrolet Lacetti sedan. At the end of October, a South Korean court found TagAZ’ local unit guilty of copying a car design registered to GM Daewoo and banned it from producing cars developed based on GM DAT’s technologies or using the information in any other way.
Two former GM DAT top managers were arrested in September for allegedly leaking core technology to TagAZ. Investigators said one man was suspected of stealing over 6,000 computer files containing information linked to GM DAT’s Lacetti.
The suspension of Vega car production was caused by delays in supplies of vehicle kits, a source at TagAZ told the daily. The plant resumed production on Tuesday and plans to produce 500 cars in December, he added.
There are currently no official bans on the production of Vega cars by TagAZ, plant representative Yelena Larina said.
