Excluding mini-vehicles, sales rose 36% to 293,410 vehicles, Reuters reported, citing data compiled by the Japan Automobile Dealers Association (JADA).
Toyota Motor sales, excluding Lexus, rose 38.7%, while Nissan Motor volume was up 32.8% and Honda Motor up 72.9%.
November marked the fourth successive month of year-on-year rise, the report noted.
Year to date, total industry volume was down 11.3% to 4,236,648 units. Excluding mini-vehicles, volume was off 11.8% to 2,670,611.
Mini-vehicle sales alone fell 10.4% to 1,566,037, according to the Japan Mini Vehicle Association.
