The RVR will be offered with a new 1.8-litre ‘MIVEC’ petrol engine, and will be about 4.3m long and fuel-efficient due to its light, compact body. The RVR will expand MMC’s crossover lineup, which includes the full-size Pajero and the mid-size Outlander also built in Peugeot and Citroen form for PSA.
Mitsubishi ran into regional naming difficulties with the first generation Pajero, launched early in the 1980s, as the name ‘Pajero’ had unfortunate connotations in Spanish-speaking markets where it was renamed Shogun or Montero.
