Automobile output in Argentina and Brazil dropped in 1999 but is increasing again for 2000, according to an article published by Wall Street Research Net. Argentinean vehicle output dropped from 458,000 vehicles in 1998 to 305,000 last year, reducing the industry’s world ranking from 16th to 19th place.

Over the last two years production has decreased from 1,586,000 vehicles to 1,351,000.


In the first nine months of this year, Brazil manufactured 1,266,547 vehicles against 1,033,819 for the same period in 1999. In Argentina 271,000 vehicles were made in the first 10 months of this year compared with 227,176 units in the same period last year.
