The old head office will cease to exist in its current form, Opel spokesman Andreas Kroemer told Financial Times Deutschland at the weekend. However, all relevant operations of Opel and Vauxhall will be bundled in Ruesselsheim, he added, confirming a report in Automobilwoche.
GM said in mid-November it wanted to relocate part of the European headquarters in order to strengthen the Opel brand and also the Ruesselsheim site – Opel’s main production facility. Now, only Reilly is set to move there with his team from Zurich, according to Automobilwoche.
