Fluid storage, transfer and delivery system supplier

TI Automotive, of Warren, Michigan, has won supply contracts for brake and fuel fluid storage and delivery systems from four major car manufacturers worth more than $US350 million.

The contracts are with Ford, Mazda, Volkswagen and Land Rover, according to William J. Laule, TI Automotive’s chief executive officer.


The new business includes a contract with Ford Motor Company’s European operations to serve as the full-service supply development partner for brake and fuel fluid handling systems; an agreement with Mazda in Hiroshima, Japan, to provide product development and production support through Sanoh, a Mazda supply partner, plus a supply contract with VW Group in Europe and South Africa for rigid and flexhose brake lines.


Production of the components will begin in 2002 at TI Automotive facilities in Europe and South Africa.


TI has also won a contract to provide Land Rover with totally integrated fuel systems for two models. It is the first major OEM contract involving TI’s new “Ship-In-Bottle” (SIB) technology.
