According to the Verband der Automobilindustrie (VDA), registrations of trucks below six tonnes were up 12% to 228,800 units. 99,800 trucks over six tonnes were sold, up 6% on a year earlier. Of those 68,500 were over 16 tonnes. This is equivalent to growth of 9% compared to a year ago.
Export sales also grew 18% to 342,500. Production rose 16% to 486,500 units.
