Citroen’s joint venture in China, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën Automobiles (DPCA), has won the “Responsible Company 2007” prize awarded by the city of Wuhan, where the company is based.

In a statement DPCA said it won the award partly because it gives high priority to good human resources management and social dialogue. In March 2007, DPCA published its first Sustainable Development report, the first of its kind to be published by a car maker in China.

Companies were judged by environmental protection experts and people living in the city over a five month period.

Since its founding, DPCA has produced more than one million vehicles in China. In 2008, five new models will be launched. Between 2008 and 2013, DPCA plans to launch more than 20 models.
