This year 70,000 more cars will be built than originally planned, reported Automobilwoche. From March, daily production will rise from 500 cars to 750.


This year, 190,000 500s will be produced at the plant. Fiat received 160,000 dealer orders for the new model between July 2007, when it was launched, and the end of last January.


According to JD Power Automotive Forecasting, 65,525 units were produced in 2007, 7,500 units more than originally planned.
