Citroen’s Australian importer will build on the ‘down under’ success of its Berlingo, a pioneer of the small van market there, with the launch of the Dispatch, a medium size model targeting the country’s largest commercial vehicle sector.

From the huge range of Dispatch versions available here in Europe, the firm has chosen two versions that it believes are ideally suited to its market, with a third version set for launch later in the year.
Initially two sizes will be available: the short wheelbase, low roof model with five cubic metre load space and a long wheelbase version with six cubic metres of load area.
The short wheelbase model has a payload of 1.0 tonne while the long wheelbase has a 1.2-tonne payload.
Both initially have a 88kW two-litre turbodiesel engine and six-speed manual gearbox and, later this year, the long wheelbase will also have a 100kW two-litre engine option.

By GlobalDataStandard equipment for Australia includes remote central locking with load/cab separation, front electric windows, air conditioning, CD audio system with steering column-mounted remote controls, anti-lock brakes, driver’s side air bag and a double front passenger seat.
The load area is accessed through twin ‘barn’ doors, each with a heated window and wiper. Optional pneumatic rear suspension allows the model to ‘kneel down’ to ease loading, along with self-levelling suspension.

The new van line is priced from A$34,990.
