Exports of 97,948 were off 2.2%.
But YTD production was up 11.6% to 421,531 and exports rose 14.5% to 320,684.
March commercial vehicle production fell 7.3% to 18,817 and exports were down 3.3% to 11,941.
But YTD volume rose 5.1% to 60,291 while exports were up 13.7% to 38,421.
“The early Easter resulted in a small decline in output compared to March 2007,” the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said.
