Christian Streiff, chairman of PSA Peugeot Citroën, has been admitted to a medical centre for a check up “following an incident concerning his health at the end of last week” but will miss the annual general meeting today (28 May), the automaker said on Tuesday.

“It is expected that he will be able to resume his group activities in the near future,” the statement added.


Supervisory board president Thierry Peugeot will chair the meeting.


No further details of Strieff’s health problem were available from PSA spokesmen but one media report noted he was conscious when admitted to a French hospital for assessment.
