The Fabia, Roomster, Octavia, and Octavia Tour (wagon) will cost CZK20-60,000 (US$1,250-$3,750) less depending on the model, a local news agency reported.
“This is not a permanent price reduction; the special prices will be in effect until further notice,” Skoda Auto’s spokesman (rather confusingly) Jaroslav Cerny told CIA.
Fabia prices will fall by up to CZK 20,000. The Roomster will see a price reduction of up to CZK 30,000 and the Octavia CZK 60,000. The basic model Octavia Tour in the version limousine with the 1.4-litre (55 kW) engine will be CZK 50,000 cheaper. Some models will get a better equipment.
“The situation on our domestic market and the loyalty of our customers are very important for us and that’s why we have decided to introduce an ‘action’ price list of our current models in the Czech Republic,” the automaker’s sales head, Jan Prochazka, said.
